Visit the NKLA Pet Adoption Center in West L.A.

by Claudia

COVID-19 UPDATES

For the foreseeable future the NKLA Pet Adoption Center is closed to the public. This includes appointment-based adoptions. If you are interested in adopting, we welcome you to fill out a DOG or CAT adoption survey and a member of our staff will be in touch with you via phone or email to advise next steps. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support for the animals of Los Angeles during these unprecedented times.

You're invited on a photo tour of the NKLA Pet Adoption Center, which opened its doors to the public in West L.A. on August 1, 2013. Through an innovative adoption experience and the partnership of many rescues and shelters, the new adoption center is expected to connect over 1,000 of L.A.'s homeless pets with loving adopters each year, bringing the city one step closer to no-kill.

Located in the heart of West L.A., the state-of-the-art center is open daily noon to 8 pm and features over 100 cats and dogs from featured NKLA Coalition partners.

Visually and functionally, it is a revelation and a revolution in pet adoption environments – a whole new pet adoption experience. The building has received a number of architectural awards in publications such as “Tile” and “Interior Design.”

With its bright, open-air Cape Cod design and striking black/white NKLA graphics, the adoption center will also serve as a sophisticated space for NKLA coalition members to host fundraisers and seminars in beautifully appointed reception and meeting areas. It features the very latest interactive touch-screen technology to aid pet adopters (including the ability to browse and share available pets in real-time), as well as personalized pet matchmaking services.
